Methi Roti / மேத்தி சப்பாத்தி

Methi is very good for health 

Methi chaphati/roti


Methi leaves-1cup
wheat flour-3 cups
Garam masala-1/4tsp
Red chili powder-1 tsp

ginger garlic paste-1/2tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4

Onion-1/2 nicely chopped(optional)
omam-1/4 tsp-optional
oil-3 tsp
salt to taste


  • Heat the oil in pan, add the jeera,omam and then add onion ,ginger garlic paste and then add washed chopped methi leaves,salt,turmeric and red chili powder
  • when the leaves are cook, remove from stove and keep aside.
  • In a bowl, mix wheat flour, besan and methi mixture and add the luke warm water to make a dough
  • Knead the dough throughly for about 2-3 mins (till it is soft) and cover it for 30 mins
  • Divide the dough into lime sized balls, on the floured surface, roll out the dough into chapathi
  • Heat a pan on medium heat. fry the chapathi using about 1/2 tsp oil until it a golden brown on both sides

serve it hot
